John Colquitt ‎(4)‎ served as a private in the Virginia Troops, his name appearing in a list of soldiers of the Virginia Line, Continental Establishment, who received full pay agreeable to the Act of the Assembly of 6 Nov., 1783, for 56 L. 9 S. ‎(VSL)‎
‎(Note: He moved from Cumberland Co., Va. to Ga., in 1794.)‎

John Colquitt, born Va., died Oglethorpe Co., Ga., 1800. Served as private Va. troops. Married Elizabeth Hendricks. Their son, Robert Colquitt, born Va., died Oglethorpe Co., Ga., served as private Va. Troops; drew land as Rev. soldier 1827 lottery in Ga.; married Susan Hubbard. ‎(MCCALL'S ROSTER OF REV. "IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN. I, John Colquitt, of the County of Oglethorpe and State of Georgia, being sick and weak of body, but of sound mind and memory, and knowing.that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make this my last Will and Testament, in the manner and form following:
-
"Impremise. I give and recommend my soul to God who gave it, and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent manner. "I will and bequeth to my beloved wife, Elizabeth Colquitt, all my tenements, chattels, domestics and furniture of whatever nature or kind except such as is hereafter excepted during her natural life or widowhood, provided the said Elizabeth Colquitt shall maintain and support her daughter, Hannah Colquitt during her life time or state of celibracy out of this said estate.

"Item. I will, and bequeth to my son, Robert Colquitt, all that tract or parcel of land now belonging to me, lying on the North
side of the Grove Creek, to belong to him and his heirs forever.

"Item. I will and bequeth to my daughter Hannah Colquitt after the desease or marriage of my wife, Elizabeth Colquitt, all that
tract of land belonging to me, lying on the South side of Grove Creek during her life and after her death, same to go to my son,
William Colquitt and his heirs forever.

"Item. It is my will and desire that all the property not heretofore especially willed and bequethed, after the desease or
marriage of my well beloved wife, Elizabeth Colquitt, be equally divided between my children, William Colquitt, Hannah
